ummm suggestion call around and ask psychiatrists whether being on medications disqualifies a person for diagnostic testing for mental disorders. it costs nothing to make phone calls, and they will probably get a great laugh over what your treatment provider told you and may just report that treatment provider to the state ethics board.

when you think about it most people normally are on some sort of meds these days. that medication may be for their heart or their lungs or their feet or their rash, or their cold/ flu or their depression, anxiety, psychosis... and they still go through being able to be diagnosed whether they have a mental disorder or not.. (reality testing proof of this is reading posts anywhere on psych central. just about everyone that I have read here have posts saying they are on this meds and that one and just got diagnosed with this and that through diagnostic testing.)
almost everyone who goes through diagnostic testing for mental disorders is already on medications.... high blood pressure or high cholesterol or anti depressants you name it. its done. people are not refused health care because of being on medications.

we cant tell you what to do but we can tell you what we have noticed in your posts...

you post you want answers but for this or that reason you cant seem to get any answers from this or that treatment provider. ok it is what it is...

bottom line is here on psych central we can not give you the answers you are posting you want.... a diagnosis.....

its come down to many of us on all your threads have made lots of suggestions but for what ever reasons those suggestions are knocked out of consideration.

Im sorry but I have nothing else to suggest. I and other members have suggested everything that I can think of to possibly help you with your posting that you want and need to know what mental disorders you have, and saying one moment you are diagnosed with this or that then changing to no they said this or that , which invalidates your posts before it.

what it boils down to is taking all the excuses on both the treatment provider and your side that you have posted about out of the picture.

then sit down and .........you...........decide for yourself whether this is something you really really want to know.

if this is something that is important to you, you make it happen, either through your exiting therapist or another mental health treatment provider that is willing to administer the so many number of tests and get you diagnosed like you keep posting you want to know.

if this isnt important to you, you will just accept the fact that you are how you are and work a treatment plan that addresses your symptoms rather than a diagnostic label. And not worry any more about whether you have this mental disorder or that one.

thats what it all boils down to. each one of us has had to decide just how important it is to ourselves to get our answers then talk with our treatment providers and follow through and if the treatment provider doesnt agree to help us we have gone elsewhere to another treatment provider who helped us get our answers.

good luck to you. I hope you get what you are looking for in a therapist, treatment and diagnosis or no diagnosis which ever you would like the outcome to be.
