Each of the major credit report companies will give you one free credit report per year. Here's what I am doing now. I am getting one report every four months. In January I ordered from Equifax. In May I will order from TransUnion, and in September I will order from Experian. This gives me timely reports. I really messed up my credit rating the last two years.
