In the beginning I used the AA groups as my higher power. Like the collective sobriety of the groups by making some small consistent changes and trusting that thousands of people have done it the same way- I used that as my higher power. Now its just like a spiritual link I guess. Its hard to describe. You know how there are certain friends that you may not see more than a few times in a few years but when you do its like no time has passed and you fall nicely into a good laugh and conversation rhythm? Its like that for me. Like my connection to others through suffer, consequences, sobriety, kindness and the universe is one big familiar friend.
