I took Remeron for 7 years. It was the most effective antidepressant I've ever taken, but it caused non-stop hunger even after binge eating. One thing I remember about it is I never had any mania symptoms when I took it even at 30 or 45 mg. It seemed to stabilize mood rather than cause mania, which is unusual for an antidepressant. I haven't seen anything documented about that. When I finally switched to Zoloft because of the appetite symptoms, I began having all sorts of bipolar problems.
