Disclaimer, I posted this before. But today I'm going home after a hard day, and I need to have something positive in my mind.
This is heavy...
My wife and I have been through a lot in recent years... Sick kids, long term illness, almost lost a job, deaths on both sides of our family. All that piles up and you fight a lot. But we always hung out every Sunday night, shared a drink, and watched Walking Dead.
One night we do a quiz, and mine comes out Dale or Abraham.. I forget. She says, "They're wrong. You're Rick." I say, I don't think so, maybe a Glen, but I'm not Rick Grimes. She says, "You're wrong. You're Rick." I said, I'm no leader. She says, "You'd look after me and the kids, no matter what it took. You'd take in others and do the same for them. You'd make hard decisions to keep us all safe. And you'd never quit, no matter what. People would follow you because of that. So yeah, you're a leader. They're wrong. You're Rick."
My wife is not one for compliments. That one hit me like a ton of bricks.
Today is a bad day. I need to remember that she saw me like this at one time, and maybe still does.
