The mother of a preteen, soon to be 13, I juggle my day job - an artisan jeweller with a mix of cooking and writing during the evenings, both of which my talented young Peggy is absolutely great at, and spending my working hours doing specialist jewellery for the Swiss family-owned firm known as the House of Gübelin.
I live in London, preferring the City to country though during half-term holidays such as this week, spending it in Yorkshire with my older sister, another jeweller.
Currently I am getting over PTSD from a disastrous marriage and finding myself sometimes at odds with my feelings, while during other days, amazingly I feel great. Peg is also a victim of violence, poor dear, though she is being helped by a wonderful lady counsellor. Sadly we lost our mother last Christmas to cancer, and our beloved dog a fortnight ago.
Bereavement is merciless; we have but to take one day at a time. However, finding this wonderful forum has greatly helped us. There are some very lovely people here.
