I bet most scripts are based on personal experiences and observing others. There is the phrase: truth is stranger than fiction and we learn a lot through observation and imitation--this includes imitating things in TV, in movies, and in the news. But mostly, my impression of what men find attractive, I learned from observing my dad and listening to my husband. One way to "learn" how to attract a man is to have a bf or male platonic friends and see what they complement, what makes them smile/pay attention.
