there is a usable fireplace behind the couch between the 2 windows but I removed the mantel so the couch would fit, and insulated and sheetrocked over it, after we build a new house I will reopen it, so it can be put back to use, and use a more traditional formalized furniture setup, also I'd like to add some Bali wood blinds to help set off the floors a bit more,maybe this summer
