Voicing emotion "wrong"...?

Sometimes voicing emotion is uncontrollable, sometimes inconvenient, sometimes socially awkward or embarrassing. Sometimes it is socially damaging.

Similar happens to me. Daily. I am blessed in that those who live closest to me are "used" to my odd and often scary utterances.

Mountainstream, how and/or when did you "learn" you "should not speak"? (Please feel free to ignore the question.

I was taught in early childhood I should not speak.
