I was told that the mood stabilizer I'm on is helpful for eating disorders (I have struggled with bulimia for many years). I'm on Trileptal 1200mg, generally what seems to be popular for decreasing binges which is also helpful for Bipolar is Topamax, a related anticonvulsant. My doctor initially put me on 900mg of Trileptal for mood stabilization after switching over from Depakote, it was chosen over Topomax because I guess it has less side effects and is tolerated better. Anyway, eventually I had a major eating disorder relapse and it was increased to 1200mg. I can say I don't binge eat anymore, I also don't purge. However I have gone back to restricting. I think overall my cravings are under control, but restricting is bad too and I'm working on CBT and DBT to help work on my weight obsession.
I hope the prozac helps you, it has helped a lot of people. I've heard good things about Vyvanse but I don't know much about it.
