Googling "momo challenge" brought up several sites that call it a hoax.
On the other hand a co-worker reported she got a phone call from the mother of one of her young clients. She said the child spent hours crying hysterically after the challenge popped up during a youtube video.
I'm not sure what to believe at this point. The important take away is that parents need to oversee what their kids are doing online.
