It's interesting that you don't really find such interactions to help with connection. I think I just need some sort of...I don't know, human thing there. Like I wouldn't do well with a completely blank-slate T. Out of curiosity, is there something that does make you feel connected in therapy?

I don't do well with a blank-state practitioner either. The question of connection is difficult for me to answer. I suppose the kind of chit-chat interaction which you describe makes me suspicious. I feel most connected when my therapist tells me how they feel about me and I am in a place where I can hear that.
