DSF - If you do take SJW, don't take it with the Celexa (citalopram) as the is a risk of serotonin syndrome (ie. excessive sweating, heart palpitation, nausea, etc.). Also, if you are going to take SJW you might as well take Celexa because at dose that would be reasonably efficacious as the Celexa you do run the risk of weight gain with the SJW.
I have found that keeping a log or journal of your food intake while taking an SSRI you can minimize weight gain . SSRIs have a tendency to induce carbohydrate craving and that craving tends to be incidious in nature; you don't realize that you have started to eat more junk food than you normally would.
One way to decrease the risk of weight gain with Celexa is to not have potatoe chips, cookies, and the like in the house. Instead stock up on those little carrots, celery, bags of premade salads and fruits like apples and oranges.
I am not saying that this will but it definitely won't hurt, and the Celexa is far better at stabilizing mood and resolving depressive symptoms than the SJW. Even proponents of SJW state that it only works for mild to moderate depression. I feel that SJW is not really any better at resolving depressive symptoms than having a good talk with a close friend.
This is my opinion, for what it's worth. - Cam
