This is a book I have found helpful, wasn't sure where to post it because there's not a recommended book section in this sub-forum. it's helped me to make sense of a lot of the stuff that was occurring with me over my teenage years I didn't understand or realize at the time and how things built up before my first episode of psychosis. It has a lot of useful information about treatment and other insightful info about surviving with this illness. It also helps explain schizophrenia in ways to help family members be able to have a sort of idea/glimpse into what's going on with loved ones dealing with it.

"Surviving Schizophrenia: A Family Manual" by E. Fuller Torrey, M.D

The following link is to a pdf on coping with hearing voices. I was giving a handout of this during a group I was in at a day treatment program

Here's a list/poster of coping techniques for dealing with voices. I found it on the web awhile back and printed out a copy which I refer to when I'm struggling to remind myself of ways that may calm me down or distract me
