I don't believe in normal, hon.
I believe it's a personal perception that's always changing and never attainable because of that.
It sounds like, yes, you are depressed and that's really messing with your self-esteem and you're using your friends to escape it for a bit...much like someone might use a chemical dependence, you're right.
How can you turn that around? Maybe face and discredit these unwanted and depressive thoughts? Depression is a huge liar, you know.
Is there any way that you can see a therapist for a bit?
