its good you've realized talking to yourself doesn't work very well sometimes. A therapist can be a great sounding board and help you learn coping skills to manage your symptoms.
The time with your friends will likely benefit from the time you give to yourself to being the best you that you can be. Maybe you can make an 'after-therapy-session' coffee date with some of your friends. Make it a reward or bonus to your taking good care of you.
