Celexa has been great for my anxiety. I was initially on 20mg for a year and a half but since going back on it I’ve been on 40mg. Been about two years now since I restarted it.

The nausea is very common when first starting many SSRIS including Citalopram (Celexa) but cleared for me within a couple of weeks after each dose increase. If you’ve been on it 5 weeks and still have nausea then to my mind it might be worth looking into something else but I’m not a medical professional.

I think it did take a while for me to really get the benefits but I can’t remember exactly how long. I’ve not had any noticeable side effects since the initial ones cleared up that I’ve noticed.

Im sure if there hasn’t been an improvement in the next two weeks other options may be considered. I hope you find the right med for you, they are really helpful when you find the right one.
