My dentist told me that people with bipolar and schizophrenia have higher pain thresholds. He didn't know if it was APs or the disorders but something he'd observed through his 40 years as a dentist. This was when he took away my right to say if something hurt because I thought a severely infected tooth was "sore" and in another day or two it would have landed me in the hospital.
