If it is NORMAL practice to mention ALL achievents.....why don't you just casually ask him why the big accomplishment wasn't mentioned since you had ALL over time tried to accomplish this. Maybe something like "wow this company has work years to achieve this goal I am surprised you didn't mention it"

Sometimes I found that just straight forward addressing something is usually the best way for me to resolve what is bothering me. In my case it didn't fix the problem but at least I understood WHY.

Working environments have such strange dynamics at times.
