If you have been purging, and you feel guilty after eating (even if you eat a normal amount), then you might already have an ED.

There are books out there about something called "Intuitive Eating" that might help. Actually, the one book has that as the title...there are also several books by the author Geneen Roth that discuss the same principle. Basically, it involvs learning how to listen to your body's own signals, and feed yourself what your body tells you it needs. It can sound real simple to say "eat when you're hungry, stop when you're full," but for a lot of people, they have lost the ability to identify real hunger, so these books can help with that. They will also talk about ways to deal with those times when you want to eat for reasons other than hunger.
