If you know they're being produced by your own brain (that's "good insight") they're actually less worrisome to your psychiatrist than they would be if you thought they were real instead of your mind playing tricks on you. Some people actually hear voices and have completely normal lives.

Psychotic symptoms do not make schizophrenia... there are other criteria. And of course you can get psychotic symptoms with your depression too, easily.
