I know how stressful ID theft can be.....I have delt with it now 2 times within the last 3 years....once with the home care person when my Mother was dying of cancer 3 years ago & then on my trip to California just after Thanksgiving & they broke into my truck to cover up the theft of the information when I checked into the motel. Sadly, the police don't do anything about this.....even when they have all the leads given to them. I was told it's "only a white collar crime" & we don't do anything about it.
No wonder it is so wide spread out there.....if they don't make the people feel they can get caught for doing the crime, they are giving them a wide open invitation to do it.
For me, this is a very personal issue & it's good that you bring it up so that others are aware of what is going on. When I read your initial post....I figured you had just had an experience with it (or someone close to you).
It leaves one with a horrible vunerable feeling even when we get everything refunded.
