Possible trigger:
-I got rid of what I normally used, by throwing it away.But that was when I was in an okay place, can you give X to someone else?
-I associated blood with something calming. You could use red food dye drops or use a red felt tip marker.
-SH is always something I do alone, tell your wife not to leave you when it's at its strongest.
-distraction, distraction.
-take a cold/hot shower
