I haven't tried it. I can see though that it might be helpful. I did a lot of research when I was first diagnosed. I found a lot of experts recommended limiting sugar because it can exacerbate mood swings. I also read that omega 3 fatty acids are recommended to assist with the depression side of bipolar disorder. The keto diet is both low in carbohydrates and high in Omega 3s. Makes sense.

I can also see the triggering mania aspect. Our brains are so sensitive chemically. I think the keto diet is a radical shift in how some people eat and making such a big change in the chemicals you introduce into the body can act as a trigger. I eat fairly healthy already, but it might make sense to slowly adopt a diet like this and add/remove foods gradually the same way we do with meds.
