Personally I prefer it if someone tells me if I’ve said or done something they don’t like.. I would then have an opportunity to apologise and to maybe explain and maybe not to make the same mistake again
But then some people “just don’t get on” and sometimes that isn’t likely to change ..

At work I’ve had people saying catty things behind my back.. I guess human nature (or some people’s nature) likely won’t change ...
Since my parental units didn’t respect me or care about me I’m a work in progress
It saddens me... well all sorts of things sadden me ...

We can't always know what may trigger another person.
It is kinder to find a place of mutual respect even if that is to agree to disagree.
Repeated attacks after having communicated your feelings don't allow a lot of space for harmony....
I would love a kind, loving assertive world.....
