the data on trileptal i think mostly comes from small studies...it was never fda-approved for any mood disorders. having said that...

for some people, it provides stability w/ fewer adverse effects than lithium, depakote, etc. i took it because depakote+my 'atypical' = misery, but trileptal+'atypical'= OK. each individual is different, of course.
