May I ask what type of pain it is - where it is located?
Our bodies often grow an immunity to drugs, and as a result we either must increase dosage (which increases odds of addiction - as does the longer the amount of time you are on a pain killer) or switch to a new drug. The USA has put new laws on many pain killers outright forbidding doctors to prescribe medications they used to .. and adding in the clause they must greatly reduce the dosage current patients are on, and send them to classes to teach them how to manage their pain without the meds .. then keep reducing dosage til they are off them completely or can be safely transfered to something less addictive.
Your depression most likely stems from both your body withdrawing and from lack of sleep.
For sleep .. you can try warm showers to relax your muscles, and then lay down the with calming music and/or put lavender essential oil on your pillow.
I think you will find the depression alleviates a bit when you sleep.
If you are able to walk outside (even just a little) .. that will help both with the pain and the depression.
If the pain is legs or back there are stretching exercises that can help as well.
Eating small amounts of dark chocolate is good for both pain and depression also.
Those are some basic things I can offer. I hope it will help. ❤
