My bed really isn't helping and is just another symptom of the bad decisions I'm making lately. I went into the store with the attitude that if I didn't get some sleep I'd die and then let the salesman talk me into buying one of the softest ones they had. There's a manufacturer's defect in it, so I'm hoping they allow me to return it.

Soft beds will make back pain worse - you need firm support. Yes, hydro therapy is not really meant to make pain go away as much as it is meant to allow functioning. The improved functioning allows you to do things like walk. Walking will reduce your pain the more you do it - both physically and emotionally.
I agree with jeremiahgirl though about the herbs (had forgotten those) .. there are many natural things you will find if you look online. I have tried a few, known ppl who have tried others, and just heard of others.. but they are all worth looking into.
I know jeremiahgirl to be correct on the hospitalization process. Lord knows I have been through it enough in my life.
Why did you fall away from the stretches? Were they not helping?
