I hear you. Society needs in general to start listening to people who open up about being abused, and to start believing them. People need to realize how commonplace it is, and stop that "but he's such a nice person, he could never do that, he never did that to me". Abusers who are "good" at what they're doing ususally appears like nice and charming. And they are everywhere; no community is immune. No religion, no profession, no socio-economic group, no nothing. There is so little to gain by telling about being abused, and so so many reasons to shut up. And the more powerful the abuser is, the worse it is to tell.
