I wholeheartedly agree with this decision! BPD has FAR too much stigma and I don't believe adequate attention is given to the correlation between BPD and Complex PTSD / trauma. Personally I think they are the same thing. Any differences can be attributed to the unique ways in which individual survivors experience their symptoms.
I have been diagnosed with BPD, however, the more literature I read about Complex PTSD the more I realize that it is FAR more accurate, both in explaining the symptomatology in relation to past traumas and also in explaining how it all happened. I truly hope the DSM follows this path because I believe ALOT of people will be helped FAR more than merely accepting a BPD diagnosis and being treated unfairly in the healthcare systems.
