We don't view it as lies. Picture it as a family of different age, experienced, knowledged member. A younger child might react to event by stomping feet & screaming, regular temper tantrum. Older child may pout, get depressed, becoming passive aggressive. Even older by realizing it's no big deal, will pass. No one is lying. Their experience different. One may just need a hug & their blanket to get over it. Another needs it explained. Another wants to totally ignore it, it will go away. There are so many possibilities. Makes life complicated!
