I have a Hahn's macaw. His name is Neruda. We picked the name because of both the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda and the Czech writer/poet Jan Neruda. Pablo Neruda actually took the name Neruda from Jan Neruda. Pablo Neruda's original name was Ricardo Eliécer Neftalí Reyes Basoalto.

Our bird boy can say his name, as well as many other things. He predominately says words and phrases in Czech. He is extremely intelligent and usually says the words/phrases at the appropriate times. For example, when my husband is getting dressed to go to work, he says "Pa pa", which means "Bye Bye". When we cover him he says "Dobrou", which means "Night night". When we ask him where he is, he says "Tady!", which means "Here!". When he is bad or he wants what you're eating, he says "I'm good!" or "I'm very good!", in Czech. Etc.
Thanks for this!
