I was just now thinking of a book I read a long time ago
In the authors opinion Depression is caused by 3 things
Self pity (fairly pejorative words imo, what is this.. beating self up even with mildly negative words isn’t a proven treatment for depression.. or is it?
Other pity (as in feeling sad for loved ones who are suffering... I would say that feeling empathy is healthy (?)
Self blame (maybe accepting the abusers’ version of the “truth” - that we are a “bad or useless person”
Any thoughts?
