Use the dbt skills and do a pros and cons list of staying and leaving I'll do that today, I've never done DBT though. I'm to afraid of group and it's not offered here.
Are you able to get in to see your current pdoc in emergencies? The one time I called because I don't do well speaking up for myself, they got me in the next business day. She says she's really available by phone but I don't call when needed because I don't want them to say go to the hospital. So I'll quietly wait for my next appointment. So will my husband.
Can you see your old T at the other clinic more often? Old T left the old clinic for his own private practice. He doesn't take my insurance. The old clinic use to do weekly but I don't know if they do anymore. My husband hates driving there too. So he'll complain every session. We came here because they had IOP if needed and it's connected to the closest hospital. Now I don't think given history I would do IOP.
There is a place right down the road that may take my insurance but I don't know the frequency and they're partnered with a different hospital. They also only have 1 star. Since moving here 4 years ago I've seen 4 therapists. This will be my fifth. 2 of them I asked for transfers. If the other clinic was closer and I trusted our car it'd be a no brainier. But the current clinic we go to is only 2 miles away. I wish I was an easy case and didn't feel as a burden for needing therapy. I'm not even sure I need therapy but it seems easier to stay on meds when I have regular therapy.
