Has anyone else attempted suicide while in the hospital?

I was considering it so I told staff and they took my bed sheets and blanket away. For some reason another staff brought me new sheets. I waited til after 15 minute checks and tried to hang myself from the door with a sheet. Obviously I had no idea what I was doing but I just wanted to die so bad!

The same tech found me and the nurses freaked out. They almost sent me to the hospital bc my blood pressure was so messed up. It’s all cloudy now but I remember how freaked they were.

I had to sit in a chair beside the nurses station all day. Right in their sight. Escorted to the bathroom. And I had to sleep on the weird bench in the day room instead of my bed. I was red banded for several days which meant I couldn’t leave the unit.

This was my third suicide attempt. Last time was two separate overdoses in 2013.

I’ve been there since. They keep close tabs on me.
