Sunrise, don't feel bad - Mckell is telling you that by getting out of the relationship you are showing your kids that you are important! and therefore they are important too and need to stick up for themselves!!! it is a very GOOD lesson!

exactly. My mom didn't leave the relationship either, he left her when he had used up nearly all her savings, energy, and stamina. It took us both to see what a bad guy he was... and taking even longer to get some positive perspective on our own lives and worth. You're doing you and your kids a HUGE favor.
