I am now over halfway done in overall progress on the third book in a four book series. I've spent roughly two and a half years so far on the series. That's a lot of time to spend working on something that hardly anyone has read and even fewer have liked. It makes me feel dejected to have been afflicted with this compulsion to put so much effort into something with so little payoff. Tomorrow I'm going to buy a whole cake and eat it in one sitting. That may sound like a bad idea, but it's better than booze, I've done that and it's a terrible idea to try and drown your troubles in drink.
