bluebicycle, thank goodness someone eventually took care of the gas leak! Maybe your mom will be a little more concerned if the alarms go off again.
I did a lot of cooking/baking yesterday, but all diet-friendly stuff. This morning my husband and I weighed ourselves after a week following a MyFitnessPal recommended eating plan. I lost a nice 3.4 lbs and hubby lost 3.7 lbs. I am a little sad that my husband seemed disappointed only losing 3.7 lbs. That is a very good loss! I think he hoped for something more like 6 lbs. I know that does happen sometimes, especially for men, after a first week on a diet, but not always. He's a European so I tried to get him to look at the significance of his loss in terms of things he's familiar with. I said that his week's loss is almost the same weight as two bags of flour in his country. They are sold in 1 kg bags. Two bags of flour off your body is a big deal! I'm pleased with my weight loss this week. After his reaction this morning, I'm happy that I at least didn't lose more than him.
Tomorrow my family will celebrate Father's day with a simple cook out with hamburgers, hot dogs, and kielbasa along with side salads and some dessert. It will be at my father's house.
