I don't think they have capacity to understand. Many feel we are putting it on or not being positive enough.

We feel what we feel. We cannot simply change our feelings with thoughts (CBT) because our pain is the the truth.

I would like to see a TV programme explaining what it is really like for people with long term depression, anxiety or CPTSD.
