I am recently separated and facing this same issue. Due to financial reasons, we have chosen to stay in the same household. Since our marriage wasn't terrible, and he is hoping for reconciliation, we are both being very civil about everything. But it can still be difficult at times. Especially with me starting to date again. Which, of course, he doesn't know about. Most of the time it is just awkward. But doable, if necessary. It is hard trying to separate finances though. Trying to separate lives, really. After living as one for more than a decade, it is hard and sad to break the bond.
