in other words your treatment provider may have accidentally used diagnosis criteria that hasnt been used in over 7 years or more and because of the rules for diagnosing mental disorders around the world they could get into some major trouble if they continue to use outdated diagnostics. why because say you have a problem and you end up hospitalized or a natural disaster happens and they look at your files and see DDNOS, then they look that up and discover that disorder name is non existent, they may think you are psychotic or self diagnosing your self with a disorder name that no longer exists and the treatments for DDNOS is vastly different than what they do today for OSDD.
having your treatment provider re diagnose you by todays standards (DSM 5 and the ICD 11) will ensure you get the correct treatment options and better health care.
what will happen is when your treatment provider diagnoses you with OSDD you will get an actual dissociative disorder label that only your treatment provider can tell you because they have a list of OSDD disorder names.
or you will be diagnosed with any number of the 30-40 new dissociative disorder labels from the ICD 11. some of them do include sleep issues. this will actually open the door for help with your sleep issues.
there are also many new mental disorders in the DSM 5 and the ICD 11 that are sleep disorders.
my suggestion talk with your treatment providers. they can help you with this.
