wildflowerchild25, I am losing good weight on 135 g of total carbs per day, though I also eat low fat. I've read that recommended weight loss ranges can even go to 150 g total carbs per day. Perhaps even more for some people. I try to lean towards healthier carbs (higher fiber whole grains, unrefined sugars). In the end, it all comes down to calories and calories burned. I choose the more low fat eating plan because my cholesterol is much higher than my triglycerides and glucose levels. I keep my saturated fats down pretty low, too. The fats I do eat I try to keep as healthier fats.

I see my 135 g of total carbs per day as semi-low carb. Like you, I have trouble limiting my total carb intake too much. For me, very low carb would never be sustainable unless I was threatened with imminent death if I ate more. When I tried to stay even below 60 g NET carbs per day, it was hard for me. I did it, and lost good weight, but resented that I felt deprived and felt like I was unable to eat some healthful vegetables and fruits. Lower fat diets are a bit easier for me.

Whatever works best for people and meets their health goal objectives.
