About 8 years ago, I followed a "low carb" diet and had success, but that "low carb" diet allowed me 60 g net carbs per day, not the many fewer of the main low carb diets. I found 60 g net daily carbs tough to stay under. Anyway, though I love eggs, I only like eggs or meats after maybe 10 am. Prior to that, I prefer sweeter breakfasts. Though there are surely other savory options for those who like them early morning, there are sweet "low carb" items. Beyond Atkins type products, you can homemake low carb sweet options. Low carb ricotta or cottage cheese based options with or without nuts and berries come to mind. I even ate low carb cheesecake for breakfast. I didn't mind sugar substitutes, like Stevia or even sugar alcohols, so that gave me many options.

I do not believe I could ever go below 40 g net carbs without being severely miserable. If you need to stay in or below that range, I don't have any suggestions.
