It is so disheartening. I had a diet buddy who runs a blog and we probably share a body type, I just checked her blog and she is gaining weight like mad. I know the feeling. I suppose I am happy that she seems to be doing worse than me and she is a stay at home mom so that is more annoying.
I have come to a few conclusions.
- the TDEE that they say I have, about 1900 cals burned, is wrong. When I eat in the range of 1600 cals per day, I gain.
- One thing I simply cannot do, is allow my body to adjust downward on the amount of energy expended. That is always a recipe for disaster.
- I must allow for having diet treats as necessary. When you are out in the world people demand of you socializing. There must be options for that.
So I have decided to do a form of intermittent fasting called the Matador diet. Matador being a study that had people eat low calories for 2 weeks, followed by maintenance calories for two weeks. The people who did this lost more weight and gained back less than people who just dieted straight through. The thinking is that your body does not adjust its calories burned downward.
One of my problems is that I have trouble "stopping" but I have decided to use a weight loss drug for the first few days of dieting. To get the diet rolling.
