I live no place near earthquakes but a few years ago we had a 4 ish and I was at work and it was darn scary. There was just this cracking sound that traveled and I felt unsteady on my feet.
Humorous moment, the evacuated everyone in all buildings in the city as a precaution and this cab driver comes up to us and is terrified... wondering if there was a nuke coming.
