After doing more research it seems ADHD might be a better match. People with bipolar can go through periods of racing thoughts but it's more of a cycle between mania and depression.

Some ADHD symptoms is racing thoughts & hyperalert. Not sure about being an overachiever and strong desires of help the world in a big way. I'm not talking about some delusional crusade to save the world from terror, but rather a sane goal of helping the world in a big way. Thousands of people have accomplished that realistic goal.

Anyhow, being different isn't a disorder. If you're too different then it's likely you'll eventually go through periods of intense sadness and depression. Disorder or not, it's not that persons fault!
