I once had a therapist who claimed to do trauma work, tell me that she could not work with me, after a couple of sessions. She was freaked out by the SI. That killed me. Someone who was supposed to help me, couldn't!!!
The studies have shown that both DBT and psychodynamic therapy work well. Personally, I can not do any type of cognitive behavioral based therapy....It just does not work for me.
It is a shame that people don't want to work with BPD....as they tend to be more creative and intellectual. And entertaining. They just have the emotions of a child
