if you are asking if we know people who’ve been in
therapy for years versus short term, it’s again not something people announce and/or something hard to determine what’s long term.

I’ve known my t for 5 years. I used to see her every month, then bimonthly. This year I saw her twice in February for bereavement help. I did not have time after that. She called me few times this spring asking how I am doing. Unfortunately I had another death in a family and saw her again this past week and will see her tomorrow. I likely won’t see her for at least few months after or maybe more.

No my inner life doesn’t really change but I have someone to run things by especially when facing grief and I don’t have specific mental health concerns, more like life concerns that come popping up.

My husband saw a therapist regularly years ago for help with Tourettes symptoms/learning strategies to manage it and OCD. It was extremely helpful. He then didn’t feel he needed it for years. His OCD flared up lately and he’s been seeing a new t about once a month. He is on meds for OCD and might need adjustment. Or maybe not. He might continue seeing this t for a long time who knows.

Again who knows how many people see t for years as people might not tell it to others. My husband tells everyone everything including about therapy lol but many people would keep it a secret
