I have sent out 12 resumes and have gotten back 3 calls. I scheduled 3 interviews, then canceled one because I could tell it would be a bad fit right from the start.
I went on an interview last week for a position for a dual diagnosis therapist-- group and individual therapy. The interview seemed to go really well and it looks like I will be called back for a second interview. The problem with this position is that it is a contracted position, meaning that I get paid by each patient I see and each group I do-- and it may take a while to build up a caseload.
I just got an interview for next Tuesday. Is for an outpatient therapist-- individual, family, and couples. Diagnoses range from anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and schizophrenia. When I told the woman on the phone that I would be entering doctoral school in the fall she said they could work around my schedule. Best thing about the job-- the caseload is already there! I don't have to find my own patients.
I'm excited about this one. I hope it works out. In the meantime, I will try to send out some more resumes.
