I'm not sure if I'd call her attention seeking. She definitely needs some kind of help though. Have you already tried to suggest her to see a therapist? I feel like that may REALLY help her with what she's struggling with. I believe there's nothing wrong with venting IF you feel like you can take it, but it doesn't have to go overboard and texting you so early in the morning may be too much, even though you were awake. I'd suggest to send her the phone number to call an hotline for Suicidal Prevention next time she texts you something like that. Perhaps you can even tell her where the nearest hospital is. I feel like that's ALL you can do to deal with a suicidal person. If she just needs to vent and she doesn't seem to have suicidal intentions, just try to listen to her if you can. You don't necessarely have to give advice if she doesn't want to. That's my opinion anyway
